Dr. Ali Haji Adam was born in Baladweine and raised in Somalia's central Hiran region. He has a B.a. in Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Yemen's University of Science and Technology, a Master of Public Health from Kenya's Jomokenyata University of Agriculture and Technology, and a Master of Internal Medicine from Somalia's Benadir University.
Before becoming Minister of Health in August 2022, he was an MP with extensive technical credentials, having worked as an emergency physician, public health practitioner, educator, researcher, policymaker, and programme manager at the national and international levels. Dr. Ali Haji Adam advocated for health and development issues before being elected to the Somali Federal Parliament in April 2022.
H.E. Dr. Maryan Mohamed Hussein was born in Kismayo. She received a bachelor's degree in community health from MOI University, and she graduated with a master's degree in public health. Dr. Maryan Mohamed was a member of the House of People of the 10th Parliament of the Federal Republic of Somalia, where she served as a member of the Parliamentary Social Affairs Committee.
She contributed in passing numerous bills in regard of family community welfare including the National Health Professionals Council Act and the National Education Act.
Dr Mohamed Hassan Mohamed Bulaale was born in Mandera, Kenya. He is a PhD candidate at Tongji University's Shanghai East Hospital. He did General Surgery at Tongji University in Master's and Degree in Clinical Medicine at Wuhan University in China 2010. He worked as a resident physician at Shanghai Tongji Hospital 2016. Following his studies, he became a medical researcher and writer, with his current research focusing on ANGPTL4 expression in gallbladder cancer-associated fibroblasts.
Prior to his election as an MP, Dr Bulale was a healthcare activist and advocate, and he served as a doctor and teacher in some of the hospitals in Somalia. He also served as a public servant in public institutions, where he actively contributed to improving social sector service delivery and worked COVID 19 Support to Somaliland during 2019, Dr Bulale was active in the political sphere, advocating for the formulation and dissemination of effective social policies.
