Ambassador Kate Foster, the British Ambassador to Somalia, welcomed the Minister and the other officials who accompanied him with a warm welcome and briefed them on the relationship and collaboration between the Ministry and the Embassy.<\/p>\n<p>The two parties discussed how to renew their commitment to Health Sector Development Cooperation and agreed to work together on the Government-led process of implementing the &#8220;BETTER LIVES&#8221; Program funded by the FCDO and to ensure UK funding to align the Government&#8217;s priorities to provide the Society with an integrated package of essential health services (EPHS) and to strengthen priority Health systems to complement other development projects funded by other development agencies.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister of Health appreciated the United Kingdom for its sustained assistance and efforts in addressing the COVID-19 outbreak and the prolonged drought that has affected over 7 million Somalis so far.<\/p>\n<p>Primary Health Care Package (EPHS) is our National Framework for organizing, coordinating, and delivering Primary Health Care services across the country. The UK government assisted in its design and development.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry is committed to achieving a healthy society through developing its engagement with Health Development donors in order to address the country&#8217;s health needs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>END<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone
