In a statement following the 77th World Health Assembly, the Somali Minister of Health and Social Walfare, Dr. Ali Hajiadam Abuubakar, expressed deep gratitude for the passage of a resolution aimed at accelerating progress towards reducing maternal, newborn, and child mortality.
The resolution, which was proposed by Somalia, calls on member states to take concrete steps to achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) targets 3.1 and 3.2. “With renewed focus and resources, we are confident that we can make significant strides towards meeting the SDG targets and ensuring a healthier future for all Somali women and children,” concluded Dr. Ali Hajjiadam.
