The Minister of Health received a delegation from the PAC in his office

Today, His Excellency Dr Ali Haji Adam Abubakar met with representatives from the PAC organization, including Abdullahi Yusuf -Country Director, Lucia Buyanza -Health Coordinator, and Elsadig Mohamed -Finance Manager.
The Minister has extended a warm welcome to the team in his opening comments. He underlined and underscored the significance of collaboration between the PAC and FMoH in order to improve the nation’s health system. In light of the fact that PAC is one of the Federal MoH’s most important health partners, it is essential that the FMoH and PAC maintain their mutually beneficial partnership for the foreseeable future. The Minister outlined the current priorities of the Federal Ministry of Health, which include responding to the current drought, strengthening the infrastructure of regional hospitals, reaching newly liberated areas where access is extremely limited, and building the capacity of local health workers.

The discussion resumed as the PAC Nation Director provided the minister with an update on the organization’s current assistance and intervention in the country. He stated that they now assist Banadir, De Martino, Daynile, and Afgoye Hospitals. Additionally, the PAC promotes the number of primary health facilities throughout the country.

Before the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides decided to extend the collaboration agreement, enhance the region of greatest need, and proceed to the most inaccessible areas to assist the most afflicted individuals. In addition, the minister stressed the necessity of supporting the ministry in its efforts to operate midwifery schools and develop operations at the two general hospitals Banadir and De Martino.
