A delegation from the Islamic Development Bank, Human Appeal, and Ainu Shams University met with Dr Maryam Mohamed Hussein, state minister of the Ministry of Health. The Ministry’s Director General, Dr Abdinasir Mukhtar, the Director of the Public Health Department and the Head of the Eye Health Program, and several of the Ministry’s department heads attended the conference.
One of the critical concerns discussed during the meeting was how to link eye health services to the medical services in the country’s general health centres and how to increase the skills and knowledge of eye health care professionals. The delegation’s mission was to evaluate the country’s overall condition of eye health care.
