H.E. Dr Maryan Muhammad Hussein, Minister of State for Health, launched today the COVID-19 vaccination campaign, which is expected to reach 4.5 million people and help the country achieve its yearly target of 40%. Simultaneously, the second phase of the OCV campaign was initiated, which would be executed in nine areas with the highest number of reported cases. It is projected to reach 934,511 persons over the age of one who lives in those locations.
With the start today at Somali National University, this campaign will focus on obtaining immunization in educational institutions on a regular basis. The ministry invites the entire community to properly comprehend the vaccinations introduced today to fight against infectious diseases.
