The Ministry of Health and Human Services commemorated World Tuberculosis Day today, which is observed on March 24 each year, with the goal of raising awareness about the health, social, and economic problems associated with the TB disease, as well as increasing efforts to prevent the disease’s spread. The theme for this year was “Yes, We Can Stop TB.”
The event was attended by the Minister of Health and Human Services, Dr. Ali Haji Adam, who was accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Mohamed Hassan Mohamed Bulaale, who is also the Director of Public Health, as well as some officials from the Ministry of Health and other officials from organizations that support Somalia’s health, particularly World Vision, which supports the Ministry’s TB Program, and WHO.
The Minister of Health, who spoke on the occasion, stated that the Ministry of Health has prepared a comprehensive plan to combat tuberculosis that will be implemented throughout the country
