A large delegation from the World Health Organization (WHO) Office in East and Central Africa, led by the Head of the World Health Organization’s Somalia Office, paid a visit to the Minister of Health, who welcomed them to the office. The purpose of the delegation’s visit was to deepen bilateral collaboration, particularly in the areas of improving the country’s Primary Health Care System and identifying how effectively to use advances in cutting-edge health technology to improve the capacity of health services in society. The delegation is made up of two units: the Covid-19 Vaccine Delivery Partnership and the WHO Innovation Hub.
The visiting group paid visits to the National Central Laboratory, DeMartini Hospital, and Wabari District Health Center in order to review the current level of health services and the difficulties that must be solved. The group will have separate working meetings with several departments within the Ministry, including the General Immunization Unit and the National Laboratory, to discuss solar energy challenges.
